About Us
Award-Winning Production
Michael Brown founded Serac Adventure Films with his brother Gordon in 1992. Michael still owns the company after more than twenty years in business. In his time at the helm Michael has attempted Mount Everest five times, and made it to the summit every time, been nominated for Emmy Awards five times, won three, made films on all seven continents, and been awarded many film festival awards and industry recognition.

The company expands to accommodate the needs of production and lends its expertise and personnel to other production companies when needed. When Michael's other brother Nicolas needs help with the BBC's Human Planet or Climate Chaos he has called on Serac Adventure films for crew.

We have also been a part of The Deadliest Catch (Discovery), Worlds Toughest Fixes (National Geographic), and Storm Chasers (Discovery). Our footage has appeared extensively in films such as Chasing Ice and Meru - both are award winners at the Sundance Film Festival.

Michael is one of MacGillivray Freeman Films go to IMAX cinematographers, especially when the shot requires dangerous vertical work. He is co-directing the upcoming Return to Everest, directed mountain photography for the blockbuster The Alps IMAX and most recently shot climbing on on the Devil's Tower for the giant screen 3D film America Wild.
