NOVA: EXTREME ICE
NOVA and National Geographic
Michael Brown is the Extreme Ice Director of Photography for NOVA, which is available online. With stunning cinematography of glaciers around the world, this one-hour NOVA documentary, produced by National Geographic, follows photographer James Balog and his Extreme Ice Survey on a search for scientific understanding of glaciers throughout the Northern Hemisphere.

Chasing Ice is a documentary film by Jeff Orlowski that takes the Extreme Ice story to a whole new level. The film is centered around James Balog's stunning photography and time lapses of glaciers, which breathe life into a natural system that is frozen and motionless to the naked eye. Our own Michael Brown accompanied the Extreme Ice Survey on five expeditions to the Arctic as a cinematographer. Chasing Ice has been awarded the Cinematography Prize at the Sundance Film Festival 2012.

Indy wire says, "...getting high marks for its beautiful cinematography, which is only equaled by the work of its subject, photographer James Balog."
