Other recipients of this prestigious award are: Leo Dickenson, Gerhard Bauer, Fulvio Mariani, Pascal Tournaire, Joe Jennings and our friend Keith Partridge (Touching the Void). The "Explorer" awards went to Doug Scott and Valeri Babanov. Previous recipients of the
"Explorer" award include Sir Edmund Hillary, Reinhold Messner, Borge Oslund, Sir Chris Bonnington, Bertrand Piccard and Krzysztof Wielicki.

Afterward they were joined by Chris Morris and Luis Benitez for the first descent of the Rio Palvitad a beautiful class IV pool drop run. Erik Weihenmayer was the first blind person to reach the summit, Sherman Bull was the oldest man to reach the summit at 64 years, nineteen members of the expedition reached the summit the most from one expedition in the same day, and most importantly for Serac Adventure Films: our president
Michael Brown with the help of Ang Khami and Chhuldim Sherpa brought a High Definition digital video camera to the summit to capture stunning images from the top of the world as well as Erik Weihenmayer's successful climb.
