Mount Everest and the Himalaya
Mount Everest has been a big part of our lives for years. Serac Adventure Films president Michael Brown has climbed Mount Everest three times from two different sides of the mountain. In the process he has made films for NBC, Outside Television, The Outdoor Life Network and ABC. Dave D'Angelo, business partner in Serac Adventure Films, has also climbed Everest.

In a total of eleven expeditions to the Himalaya; Serac Adventure Films' president Michael Brown has made eight mountaineering films, two ski films and one kayak film.

The latest was a journey to Phortse, Nepal for the Khumbu Climbing School and a film called The Endless Knot.

Michael and David D'Angelo recently returned from Nepal and production of Light of the Himalaya with a very moving story of sight restoring cataract surgeries and spectacular climbing.

Michael made three trips to Tibet in 2004. The first was an assignment to shoot stills and video of the start of an Everest climb that ended up being rather exciting ... thanks to Maoist activity. The second and third trips were to work with blind children in Lhasa.

David D'Angelo climbed to the Summit of Mount Everest on May 25,2004, on the three year anniversary of blind climber Erik Weihenmayer's historic ascent.

In 1993 Michael climbed Mount Everest for Global Extremes. He carried a video camera and UHF video transmitter to the summit to capture spectacular live images of the summit day, May 30th, 2003, for OLN and ABC Sports.

Our favorite expedition and most successful film was Farther Than the Eye Can See with blind climber Erik Weihenmayer. We reached the summit on May 25th, 2001 and brought the first ever HDTV Camera to the top to capture spectacular images of this historic climb.

One year earlier, on May 22, Michael reached the summit during the production of Everest Dreams which aired on NBC Sports and was produced by Kim Morris.

Michael Brown field produced and shared camera credit in the film
The North Face Expeditions: Shishapangma: A Celebration of Life on
Tibet's Mount Shishapangma.

Our first Himalayan climbing expedition was an attempt on an unclimbed ridge of Mount Pumori. Although we did not succeed in the objective we did make the film Pumori: Daughter of Everest for the Outdoor Life Network.

Before Mountaineering came kayaking with a very special expedition to
Bhutan: Land of the Thunder Dragon.
