Looking up at the route from Camp II. We follow the snowfield on the left, up the ridge to the hump, across at a 45 degree angle to the snow below the yellow band, up to the ridge and along the ridge to the summit.

Jake Norton working his way up the fixed lines.

Jake with the West Ridge of Everest and Pumori in the background. On the second attempt we used oxygen as we had really used our selves up in the rescue a week before.

The view from the summit down toward the Southeast Ride. It was wild to look down the same path I had taken in 2000 and 2001. The peak beyond the ridge is Lhotse, the worlds 4th highest.

The summit in 2003 with Makalu, the world's fifth highest peak in the background.
