Half Dome: Exercise Your Heart. Share The Beat. See the official website of world renowned mountaineer and heart transplant recipient Kelly Perkins: The Climb of My Life June 24 - 29, 2008: Heart transplant recipient Kelly Perkins added another summit to her mountaineering resume by ascending the shear rock face of Half Dome in Yosemite National Park, California. Thirteen years ago Kelly received a new heart and ever since then has been climbing mountains in an attempt to raise awareness about organ transplants and how transplant recipients can can lead very normal lives, even if normal means scaling many of the world's peaks. Serac Adventure Films was on hand to film and photograph Kelly's entire climb of Half Dome. World renowned climber Aracelli Segarra assisted with photography and equipment during the climb.
